Crashes and locks up my phone

Google News used to be my go-to app; however, about two releases ago it began to crash repeatedly, and now causes my phone to lock up almost every time I launch it. Google News is the ONLY app on my phone that does this, so it’s not an issue with my phone...it’s the app. Deleting this app and will come back to try again in a month or two; hopefully, the issue will be fixed by then.
