The app still runs with the smaller screen size. Why hasn’t this been optimized for the iPhone X?

Other apps show me news without ads. Can you do that?

I guess this app isn’t really supported anymore.. on to Apple News, NYT, or WaPo I suppose...

Many of my feeds dont update in a timely manner leaving me with old news stuck in the feed. App I useless for keeping up with deals as by the time the app gets it, its 12+ hours old.

I am not sure about the new performance updates. Now my iPhone is locking up and the accelerator technology for the web pages forces me to bypass and go directly to the link. Is it better to just use the link to the web page instead of the app?

Causes entire phone to freeze for 10s of seconds at a time

Freezes like an an Android would

One of my favorite and most used apps of all time, but now the app crashes multiple times a day and seems to have a slowing effect on my whole phone experience. Looking forward to coming back to the app once these problems are resolved.

Since the last update it’s so buggy that I’ve had to delete. It repeatedly freezes. And when that happens, sometimes it will freeze my whole iPhone 8 Plus running up to date iOS. Please fix it!

Wish I could edit (ie block) articles from certain sources. I would then block all the sources that prevent you from reading their article without paying for a subscription....such a disappointing waste of my time.

On iPad, latest version, latest Google news update, it allows me to add and delete interests, however, once Im done following a story or subject, and delete it, it comes back again. I tried everything including deleting/reinstalling the app...No joy. It also, contrary to my settings and location, sends me articles in Vietnamese, Russian, French etc. Odd. No response from Google. A "we are working on a fix" would be nice.

Apple News is egregious in its proprietary Apple style. I’m so very excited to switch to Android and never pay Apple again, but so many alternatives are crap. If anyone should have been able to aggregate news sources in a better way than Apple, I would hope it would be Google. But considering their hardware, their childish quibble with Amazon, I don’t know why I expected anything quality from google except their search engine. Lack of obvious “block news source” feature. Why not pull a YouTube and let me like and unlike posts so you learn that I think Buzzfeed has gone way down hill since they switched to “articles” from listicles. Do better, Google. This could be your thing! Hardware obviously isn’t. Stop wasting money, improving this would be less expensive than other R&D and people might start getting their news here rather than twitter and Apple news.

It’s been a while since the X came out, it doesn’t seem like it would be too difficult to update the app to make use of the entire screen. As it stands, there are giant black bars at the top and bottom of this app. Almost every other app works fine, it blows my mind that one of the largest software companies in the world doesn’t care enough to make their products work correctly. If you’re going to make a product, support it. If you aren’t going to support your product, just kill it and be done with it. Leaving it in this state is shameful. I’ve already deleted most of my Google apps because of this persistent neglect. “News” is next on the chopping block.

This app is riddled with ads. Most of it are spam.

Last few weeks this app has been freezing up my iPhone 7 Plus. Will be getting rid of shortly if this glitch isn’t corrected soon. The freeze up only happens when I enter the app and start scrolling headlines.

Display of Google News has always looked rather blah and boring (especially in comparison with Flipboard and others), and the display features are bad. But, I’m wondering when Google is actually going to change their interface and display aspect ratio to keep up with the new screen displays. For now, Google News looks like a 10 yr-old Android app on an iPhone X. Wasted space on the screen that’s ugly.
