Until recently there were news stories listed that I was interested in and could read at no cost. Now I am seeing quite a few news stories listed that I would like to read, but I can’t read them without subscribing to the news paper that published them.

As far as performance, its the worst app I have on my phone. Constantly freezing and crashing. It uses way more memory and battery life than any other app, even more than Facebooks terrible app. If anyone has recommendations for news apps, please share. I am erasing this app because its pretty much unusable. Im confused how google can approve such an awful app for release. I am using a new apple iPhone se with updated operating system. I dont have any other apps that are even close to as bad as this one.

I can’t login to my New York Times account. I pay for that and yet google news has me in an endless loop when you try to login!

It’s not very customizable and I find if I read one article on a subject I am then inundated with articles relating to it. I only need to read a couple articles on a subject, I don’t need only articles about that storey. Also with the last few updates I have noticed stability going way down. Never crashed before, after the last couple updates it regularly crashes, essentially every time I manually reload the news.

Recent release makes my phone, iPhone, completely bug out and crash. Had to delete it from the phone.

Locks up my phone constantly.

Consistently crashes on certain articles. Going back to more stable news aggregators.

Love this app. Use it constantly throughout the day. Ever since the latest iPhone update most of my Google apps freeze. News being the worst, but calendar is pretty bad too. Please fix soon!

The most recent iOS update freezes the app when you reopen it and temporarily takes the operating system with it. Rebooting fixes it for a little while, but the problem comes back.

Slow at updating regarding iOS updates and also many glitches. Disappointing that this is a Google product.

Since the update 3 days ago, touching almost any of the links causes the app the crash. iPad Pro and IPhone 6 Plus on the latest 11.2

In the last 2 weeks, there have been several updates which I have downloaded with the hope that each one will prevent the program from regular freezing and crashing. The app issues have required me to restart my phone on several occasions. This program used to be a favorite. I’ve been looking for replacements. Also recently, the local section is filled with articles all 2-3 days old. Not ideal.

Constantly hangs on iOS 11.2 when I bring it back into the foreground, after it has been in background mode for a while. Background refresh is on, I still cannot get it to work.

No alerts and the watch app crashes.

The app does not let me adjust which news sources I want to follow but instead is over dependent on sites like Washington Post that give you a few sentences then try to charge you for the rest. Could find no way to either delete that and other providers nor add preferred providers

Unable to share articles with the share symbol in the upper-left corner on the iPad (works on the iPhone, don’t the developers talk to each other?). Apparently this has been going on since 2017.

Might as well be called “Washington Post” app. This app gets worse and worse. Nearly every headline article from WSP, CNN, or NYT. No way to stop or filter out this biased news groups either. Buzzfeed headlined article on what pill trump takes for hair growth pushed me to deleting this app. Was a long time user of this app until recently, please allow filters for liberal left new sources, they are often not accurate and very misleading!!! Good job google at getting the masses ill-informed and brainwashed by these garbage biased selections. Until filters are added, Im done having no choice but to read these liberal left sources.
